It has been reported to me that at the service in SF the crowd cheered and applauded.

Also reported to me was that at the Youth Day in Akron, OH (still in progress at this hour) where our new district apostle was for service, the congregation burst into applause and greeted the winner with a standing ovation!

Kolb later remarked at the awards ceremony, "I didn't win an election..this is a commission."

Der Nachfolger von BAP Wend (*1943) ist auch noch nicht "raus".

Übrigens: BAP Klingler (*1947), STAP Leber (*1947), BAP Brinkmann (*1948)... Viele spannende Nachfolgeregelungen stehen uns also ins Haus.

Too often because of the lack of thought, the choir hymn sung after the text is referred to. This is not necessarily incorrect but should be the exception and used only when really fitting and heart-moving.

Ein Schelm, wer Boeses dabei denkt.

"LACNAC" hat einmal eine der typischen NAC Redewendungen im Gottesdienst in verstaendliches Deutsch uebersetzt:

"In this morning / evening hour I had to think ..."
Klartext: "When I got up here I had no clue what I was going to say ..."

Der noch amtierende BezAp Freund hat bekanntlich einen Jugendgottesdienst in San Franzisco gehalten, der landesweit uebertragen wurde.

Am Ende hat er den Chor gebeten, noch ein Lied vorzutragen, dann werde eine Bekanntmachung folgen, und dann solle der Chor noch einmal singen. Damit hat er sich verabschiedet.

Die Bekanntmachung bestand in einer vorbereiteten Videoaufzeichnung, in der BezAp Freund den Geschwistern gedankt hat und seinen Nachfolger genannt hat. Dass er dies nicht persoenlich und live getan hat, hat verschiedene Kommentare ausgeloest. Einer sei hier stellvertretend zitiert:

I have to agree with the other posters that thanking people and announcing his successor by taped announcement seemed odd. He was standing right there. Why the silliness of the pre-recorded message?

I think he did that because he disagreed with the selection of Kolb. If he truly supported the decision he would have been only too happy to announce it live. This was not like distributing a video tape to be shown to congregations that are not connected through the transmission. Every congregation was already listening. All he had to do was say it. That would have been easier than arranging a big screen projector and would have packed more punch.

I also feel sorry for the many who have supported him through the years. His official, farewell thanks for their support was also bundled into the recorded statement.

Using a pre-recorded message to say on tape what he didn't want to say in person made it an insult. It's hard to be generous and put a nice spin on it. It was a carefully crafted move. He's quite shrewd. It was defensible but ultimately obvious. He not only does not support the choice, but his disagreement was so strong he went to a lot of extra effort to show it.

Anscheinend sind die Geschwister in England (UK) nicht gleichzeitig ueber ihren neuen BezAp informiert worden.

With the announcement throughout the USA last Sunday of the new DA, do you think it strange that the UK was not party to that announcement? It this the time that the UK moves into a european district? But then given the strange way that the 'announcement' was made, anything is possible!!!!!

I spoke with the Parsippany Building Dept. this afternoon, July 26, 2008.

The church has still not been issued a T.C.O.

They failed the Building T.C.O. inspection on July 17th. However, the building has passed the final plumbing, electrical, and fire inspections.

The clerk told me that the earliest openings that they have for inspections is next week, and that there has been no request yet from the contractor for another inspection.

The clerk stated that the State of New Jersey allows cities up to a maximum of 10 days to process T.C.O.'s once requirements are met and an application is submitted. She said it generally doesn't take their staff that long to process the completed applications. Mehr ...

Lieber GG001,

hat jemals jemand herausbekommen, wozu das ganze Theater gut sein sollte?

Ich habe beim Lesen im NAC-Board nicht verstanden, was zu der Entscheidung, das Gebäude ohne behördliche Genehmigung zu nutzen, geführt hat. Es wäre doch gewiss möglich gewesen, temporär ein Ausweichquartier zu finden. So aber hat man sich künstlich Ungelegenheiten und Anlass für Ärger geschaffen - aus meiner Sicht ohne Notwendigkeit.
